There is a global alliance forming against the United States of America. The world is rapidly changing, and America’s global leadership is at risk. Still, we as Americans remain ambivalent to this world taking shape around us. Americans continue to be the most giving nation on the planet. We still retain a desire to help others, but that comes at a cost. We expend resources toward the rest of the world at the expense of taking care of our own country. Yes, America continues to be a good nation, but the hard reality is that we may no longer be a great nation. What should we do now, how do we make America great again?

First, we need to understand who this global alliance is and what their goals are. This alliance has included China, Russia, Venezuela, North Korea, Iran and Cuba. But now there are others who many would not expect, such as India, Brazil, and even nations who the United States has aided and been aligned with, some for more than a century. Nations such as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, and even some European powers such as France (not their people but their governments). There are still others, and this list grows longer as American leadership grows weaker.

This alliance is responsible for the resurrection of the ideology of a globalist form of communism across the world. Under the guise of democratic socialism, there is an aggressive campaign underway inside the United States, to fundamentally change America. This movement is led by a passionate few pushing against the indifferent many and they are currently winning this ideological struggle. Their primary purpose is to destroy American culture, along with our founding principles.

The underlying connection of the ideology of communism is international solidarity. America is not immune from its reach (never has been). In fact, we are already in its strong embrace. Democrat leaders view various movements of the 1960’s and 1970’s as the first of numerous revolutions to shape a new future based on their ideology. They view organizations and movements like Black Lives Matter and ANITFA much the same as earlier Marxist movements such as the Weather Underground and the Black Panther Party. The goal of these movements is to overthrow America’s Constitutional Republic, resulting in a temporary period of socialism followed by communism.

Communism went dormant after the successful end of the Cold War (the USSR versus the West). However, after years of President Putin ruling over Russia, and President Xi strongly leading the CCP, these two have engaged in an ongoing level of global mischief. Both nations, along with internal forces here at home, have resurrected communism and essentially brought it back to life.

Various experiments around the world allow liberal elites in America to highlight the goodness of democratic socialism, displaying their globalist views for greater freedoms, until reality sets in and things are not so good. Venezuela’s strongmen (Chavez and now Maduro), and similarly, the rise of Cuba, both took place in our hemisphere. Both “popular revolutions” eventually resulted in imprisoning their populations.

China’s Xi no longer hides behind his age-old communist tactics of operating in the shadows. He is very public in his consolidation of power, and it’s shown in China’s position on Taiwan, their aggressive stance on trade and global commerce, and their global extension via their “One-Belt” initiative. These moves are indicative of the emergence of a 21^st Century super-power. China, along with Russia and Iran, have developed economic relationships for vital natural resources, rare earth elements and all forms of energy. Additionally, the CCP now seeks to control critical trade routes like the Suez and Panama Canals, making China a formidable challenger in this competition for global supremacy.

What does this all mean? Is there a modern-day version of what President Reagan called the axis of evil? That axis, as described by Reagan, included China, Russia, Iran, and it has grown significantly to now include nation-states and non-nation state entities, peoples and various other power centers. It is not so much an “axis” as it is a global force set on shifting the seat of power away from the United States and toward China.

There are many reasons why China now possesses a home base within the United States. For nearly three decades, the CCP has infiltrated every institution in America, beginning with our universities and now including those serving at the highest levels of our government. Yes, communism, Marxism, and globalism, have resurrected and reinvented themselves in the pursuit of absolute power. Just like in the 1980’s, America is the primary target. And the spreading of the deceptive message of democratic socialism to a generation that never faced communism and doesn’t understand the insidious nature of it, goes unabated.

The decision then for Americans who still desire to live freely, in a rule of law-based society, and under our current constitutional republic must also remain unabated. Otherwise, the continued penetration of the Democrat Party in America, which began decades ago, will only exacerbate. Do not be fooled or enamored by those in their elite ivory towers of government or their comfortable homes in places like Martha’s Vineyard, they mean business.

Where does that leave us? In Matthew 5:14, Jesus tells his followers that they are the light of the world and that they are unable to be hidden. No one puts a lamp under a bushel basket because the purpose of a lamp is to help people see in dark places. Jesus Christ’s followers shine the light of the Lord on those around them by the words they speak and the actions they take. This is one of the great gospel images of discipleship: the light of discipleship in Christ shining for all the world to see. Light cannot be anything other than what it is. So, let’s be that shining light for all to see.

That said, in my assessment, America remains that city on the hill as described by Matthew and as referred to by President Ronald Reagan, as a “shining city on a hill.” America remains a strong, viable democracy holding on to the remaining threads of our constitutional republic. These threads may be torn or frayed but they remain intact in the DNA of every freedom loving American, regardless of background or status. We will remain a free nation because we firmly believe in the destiny that each of us were called on to seek. And that destiny is the same destiny our founders believed in. But our founders also knew and demonstrated by their actions individual sacrifice and personal commitment to the cause for freedom.

As it states in our declaration of independence, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.—That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,—That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government. Maybe it’s high time we consider these words carefully. What does it mean to alter or abolish?

In my judgement, using the laws we have on the books, including our constitutional rights, we need to work locally with our states’ legislatures and governors to bring our overreaching federal government to its knees. Achieving this requires action at the local levels of our society by engaged citizens. Yes, local action can have a national impact but only if we know ourselves, our individual strengths and limitations, our local laws and policies, and understand the adversarial and insidious nature of socialism. Those imposing it on our country mean business, and so must we.
